Job Summary:
The FIA is seeking to hire an experienced law enforcement professional to fill the post of Intelligence Officer.
The post holder will be responsible for, or assist in, gathering, analyzing and developing intelligence products from various sources, including domestic and international agencies and regulatory bodies and support the detection and prevention of financial crimes including Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Proliferation Financing. Prepare intelligence reports to be shared with relevant agencies to assist or initiate domestic or international investigations. Conduct background checks and complex operational analysis. Have working knowledge of open-source research methods, and the ability to update and search databases, including closed-source intelligence databases and data maintained by the Agency. Provide intelligence support to the Senior Intelligence Officer, Director, and other relevant officers, as assigned.
Required Qualification:
- Associates Degree or equivalent
- Basic law enforcement training or Basic Financial Investigation Training
- Three (3) years of law enforcement experience
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and oral)
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented aptitude; a high degree of accuracy is required
- Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to learn and adapt to change
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of investigative procedures and law enforcement legislation including the Proceeds of Criminal Conduct Act, the AMLCFT Code of Practice, AML Regulations, FIA Act, 2003 as amended and Criminal Code.
- Training in Techniques of Financial Investigation
- Experience with financial investigation, including financial profiling
Salary and Benefits:
Starting at $48,000, commensurate with qualifications.
Compensation and benefits package also includes reimbursement of National Health Insurance premium, gym membership allowance, and attractive vacation leave accrual. For non-contract employees, benefits also include 15% contribution towards pension and employer paid term life insurance at 5x salary (subject to underwriting).
