01. Receiving and analysing Suspicious Transaction Reports (STR)s submitted by reporting entities;
02. requesting information from various sources during the analysis process to add value to the information provided in STRs;
03. using the additional information gathered to develop actionable intelligence;
04. sharing intelligence with domestic and international law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies in suspected cases of money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing;
05. collaborating with domestic agencies on joint projects aimed at assessing money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing risk for the implementation of measures aimed at mitigating identified risks;
06. developing and publishing written guidelines to assist regulated and supervised entities in fulfilling their AML/CFT/PF obligations, including introducing measures to prevent the abuse of entities for such purposes;
07. reviewing and upgrading the FIA’s internal operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with global AML/CFT standards;
08. initiating appropriate enforcement action for non-compliance of the statutory requirements;
09. engaging with stakeholders through outreach and training to enhance their understanding of the statutory requirements;
10. actively participating in the work of the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units and the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force to maintain networking and information sharing channels.
