Job Summary: The IT System Administrator will support the IT Manager in developing and maintaining desktops, servers & network systems throughout the Agency. The IT System Administrator will report directly to the IT Manager and support the technical team in achieving strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure computer hardware, networks, operating systems and applications (desktops and servers).
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks including Voice Over IP (VOIP) telephones and various site Internet connections.
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems and diagnose and solve hardware/software faults.
  • Support the rollout of new computer applications.
  • Assist end users to transfer data electronically into, between and from databases with the required security procedures.
  • Identify and correct or advise on operational issues with end users’ computer systems.
  • Provide software training and advice to end-users.
  • Manage backups of all systems, ensuring that they run successfully and to manage rotation of backups off-site for safe storage.
  • Update systems and servers regularly with approved software updates.
  • Monitor system & server logs, following up on any security or performance issues.
  • Test and evaluate modern technology.
  • Procure software and parts as instructed by the IT Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, and/or Information Technology.
  • Minimum of Four (4) years' experience in computer operations and Management Information Systems or similar.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in managing Windows/Linux servers, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (LAN, WAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP)
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Working knowledge and experience with Cisco Business switches or catalyst switches
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server

Salary and Benefits:

$69,000 - $85,000, commensurate with qualifications.

Compensation and benefits package includes reimbursement of employee NHI premium, gym membership allowance, 15% contribution towards pension, employer paid term life insurance at 5x salary (subject to underwriting) and attractive vacation leave accrual.
